How we began...

Mr. G Propane

Amador "Mr. G" Garcia proudly wore many hats in the short 56 years of his life.  Among his many roles, he was a doting son, a loving brother, a distinguished veteran, an adored husband, an idolized father, and a humble businessman who was very well respected throughout the area.  Amador was originally from Mexico and raised in Starr County in deep South Texas.  Before marrying the woman of his dreams in August of 1970, Amador proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.  After Amador and Noemi married, they moved to Dallas and were educators within the Dallas ISD, but after almost one decade later, they moved back to the Rio Grande Valley to raise their two young children and live closer to their families.  Noemi remained an educator but Amador saw a different path for his future......His entrepreneurial spirit began with a convenience store on North 10th Street in McAllen, Texas he named Mr. G Food Store and has since grown to much more.

With many years of hard work, honesty, and dedication to the people, the Garcia family opened another convenience store in Mission and since then, entered the propane industry expanding from bottle filling stations, to bobtails for delivery service, to a full-service truck.

Mr. G Propane, Inc. is now headquartered in Mission, Texas.  Over the past several years, Mr. G and his family made several business acquisitions that included: Pan American LP-Gas, Triple R Propane, Starr Gas Sales, and Elsa Butane Sales.  Mr G Propane is currently servicing several counties, Starr, Hidalgo, Willacy, Cameron, and Brooks, with hopes to expand in the near future.

Mr. G Propane is and has been a proud member of many prestigious organizations throughout the valley, i.e. the Texas Propane Gas Association (TPGA), McAllen Chamber of Commerce, Mission Chamber of Commerce, Weslaco Chamber of Commerce, Edinburg Chamber of Commerce, Rio Grande Valley Builders Association (RGVBA), Harlingen Chamber of Commerce, and the Brownsville-SPI Board of Realtors.

With “People Servicing People”, Mr. G Propane will continue to grow throughout the Rio Grande Valley and beyond as he always dreamed it would!

In loving memory of the late Amador “Mr. G” Garcia
1946-2002
